Notes:
From Sweet Mercies by David Ruis: This song contains lyrics that are in the Saultreaux language, a North American Indian tongue that is similar to Cree. It is one of the most common native languages around the area that I live. In interacting and singing this with aboriginal people, I wondered if their language would fit the meter of this song and sure enough it did. I thought it appropriate to use, as I long for the river to flow to all peoples and bring healing to the ancient wounds of prejudice and misunderstanding.
