I have often come across albums, both Christian and secular, where the title track has, somehow, disappointed. And Ive always wondered why they made it the title track.
Not this time. You Are In Control is definitely crowned by its title track, which is a winner both in the congregational worship setting and as a great piece of music to listen to or worship to in your own time with God. Scott Underwoods anointing is not unexceptional.
Songs like The Name of Jesus and Balm of Gilead provide great middle-of-the-road songs that are neither too exultant nor too soft and can fit into those in-between times worship leaders need to fill when moving from up tempo praise to intimate worship.
Micke Fhinns Under the Waterfull is a simply wonderful, worshipful song which immediately appealed to me. Its in the same vein as songs like Faintly and Breathe passionate yet exceptionally gentle.
Alone With You is great to listen to, if possibly fairly complex in terms of tempo. It might be a challenge for less advanced musicians.
Your Voice and Your Throne were the other two tracks that caught my ear, along with Your Great Faithfulness. This album wont disappoint!
