The Association of Vineyard Churches
The Mission of the Association of Vineyard Churches is to participate in the advancement of the Kingdom of God through the work of local Vineyard churches that communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

The Vineyard movement can be traced back to a small house gathering comprised of leaders from a local Quaker church in Southern California in 1976. They were a people exhausted with empty religious practices, and deeply thirsty for God’s presence. For hours they simply worshipped God. In a few months that meeting grew from 12 to 125 people. Soon that group became a church with John Wimber as their leader. In 1981 a watershed experience occurred one Sunday evening which launched the Vineyard into greater spiritual depth, renewal and power ministry. Since then, Vineyard churches throughout the world have spread the fire ignited over 18 years ago.
