It is with sadness that we announce the death of John Wimber.

John Wimber wrote several worship songs, including “Isn’t He”, “Sweet Perfume” and “Spirit Song” and was instrumental in determining the style and understanding of worship in the Association of Vineyard Churches. Read a short article he wrote about the first series of Vineyard Music albums. Go to official announcement from the Anaheim Vineyard.

The Los Angeles Times has published an obituary and an article about the memorial service, and Alexander Venter from the Valley Vineyard has written this Tribute to John Wimber. John Panner also wrote The Truth About John Wimber.

Postscript: In February 1998 his son, Chris Wimber, died. Read the Vineyard Music Group press release
